Jalan Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur

Jalan Tangsi, Kuala LumpurJalan Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur (8 July, 2016)

Jalan Tangsi is a minor road in Kuala Lumpur. It connects Jalan Kinabalu to Jalan Parlimen. The road is lined on one side with pre-war building in the British Regency style which at time of writing (Dec 2015), is still undergoing restoration. These buildings were constructed by tin magnate Loke Chow Kit, of which his mansion, Loke Hall, is now undergoing restoration as 10 Tangsi. Across the road is the Bank Rakyat head office.

The name tangsi means barrack, for originally the road was called Barrack Road, after the police barracks that used to be located here.1
