Lebuhraya Mahameru, now called Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, is part of the Middle Ring Road I.
The earliest section of the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 1 runs from Parliament House to the Sungai Batu river, where the Putra World Trade Centre is located. It was constructed in the 1960's after the independence of the country. The second section, from Parliament House to Istana Negara, and was constructed in the 1970's, and is today often known as Jalan Damansara.
The third section from Istana Negara to the Sungai Besi Airport was built in the 1980's, and is now known as Jalan Istana. From here, it links to Jalan Sungai Besi and Jalan Yew to connect with Jalan Tun Razak, which links back to Lebuhraya Mahameru.
