National Heart Institute, Kuala Lumpur (8 July, 2016)
National Heart Institute (GPS: 3.17041, 101.70955), or Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), is a centre for cardiovascular and thoracic care in Kuala Lumpur. This is the place where cardiothracic surgeries are performed. IJN receives cases referred to it from all over the country as well as from abroad.
The National Heart Institut was established in September, 1992. It occupies a plot of land on Jalan Tun Razak, a short distance from Hospital Kuala Lumpur and the National Blood Centre. IJN has a total of 432 beds, making it one of the largest heart centres in Southeast Asia.
The admission office is open Mondays to Fridays 8:05 am to 5:15 pm, Saturdays 8:15 am to 12:05 pm and Sundays 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The outpatient pharmacy is open Mondays to Fridays 7:30 am to 7:00 pm and Saturdays 8:15 am to 2:00 pm. The outpatient registration zone and outpatient pharmacy are on the Ground Floor of Block A while the Emergency Department is at Block B.
