Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields (GPS: 3.13083, 101.68839) is a primary school in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. The name refers to two separate schools, Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields 1 and Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields 2 located on Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields 1 was established in 1954, and was originally called Brickfields School Kuala Lumpur. The school was officially opened by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah, on 6 March, 1956. In order to cope with rising student intake, Brickfields School Kuala Lumpur broke into separate sessions in 1977, and was thereafter known as School 1 and School 2.
Over the years, the two Brickfields schools grew to become separate entities. The school building for Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields 2 was erected in 2000, occupying the plot that was formerly the school field. A few years later, the original building of Brickfields School was demolished to make way for the construction of the present Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields 1 building. During that period, classes of School 1 were conducted in the premises of Sekolah Kebangsaan Brickfields 2.
Until 2005, Sekolah Brickfields 1 was a boys school. On that year, the school became co-educational with the first intake of female pupils.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
