Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. It is located on Jalan Shahbandar, in the neighbourhood of

The sixth headmaster of SMK Jalan Cochrane was Mr Goon Fatt Chee, who wrote the lyrics for the school song. He would later become the headmaster of the

The school was to be at
Jalan Cochrane until 2004, when it relocated to Jalan Shahbandar. With the relocation, it dropped the word "Jalan" from its name, becoming Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Cochrane.
