Stadium Negara (GPS: 3.14073, 101.70279) is an indoor stadium in Kuala Lumpur. Located on Jalan Stadium, it was built at a cost of RM34 million and completed on 19 April, 1962. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Putra of Perlis officiated in its opening.
Stadium Negara is the first indoor stadium in the country. It is the venue of major sporting events. It is also used for concerts. Among the international artistes who have performed here include Backstreet Boys (3 May, 2015), Bee Gees (1972), Bon Jovi (4 May, 1995), Cliff Richard (9 January, 1995), David Archuleta (26 July, 2011), Def Leppard (4 June, 1996), Eric Clapton (26 November, 1990), INXS (2006), Jason Mraz (2009), Jonas Brothers (24 October, 2012), Kylie Minogue (3 March, 1991), Pet Shop Boys (24 September, 2014), Sarah Brightman (2004), Sting (2 FEbruary, 1994), The Cranberries (4 April, 2012) and Wonder Girls (13 October, 2012).
Taking public transport to Stadium Negara
The main road into Stadium Negara is Jalan Stadium, off Jalan Hang Jebat. You can take the monorail to the Hang Tuah Monorail Station and walk a short distance from there.
