Tradewind Square (GPS: 3.15159, 101.71084) is a major development project in downtown Kuala Lumpur. It occupies a site off Jalan Sultan Ismail that was the former site of Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur. The centrepiece of this project is a 775-meter skyscraper. Another report places the height of the skyscraper at 608 meters. In either case, if it is completed, the skyscraper will be the tallest building in Kuala Lumpur.
Plans for Tradewind Square has been revised a number of times. Originally, the site was to house four skyscrapers, with the tallest being 65 storeys, followed by a 54-storey serviced apartment block, a 24-storey corporate office block and a 14-storey medical centre. There was to be central plaza like the Rockefeller Center.
The plans were then revised and presently comprises a 110-storey mega skyscraper, a 61-storey mixed-use skyscraper, and a shopping mall with one million square feet of floor space. The architectural firms involved with be Woods Bagot as leading firm, in association with DP Architects Pte Ltd of Singapore and local firm DP Architects Sdn Bhd.
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
