Forbidden Garden of the Palace of the Melaka Sultanate (1 May, 2009)
Forbidden Garden of the Palace of the Malay Sultanate of Melaka (GPS: 2.19273, 102.25051), or
Taman Larangan Istana Kesultanan Melayu Melaka, is a garden in front of the Malacca Sultanate Palace. It is an interpretation of the garden where royal princesses at the time of the Malacca sultanate used to enjoy.
According to the interpretive plaque, it has never been clearly recorded that such a garden actually existed at the palace, this garden is nonetheless visualized, that if such a garden existed, it would have taken the appearance as laid out. The interpretive plaque also pointed to the chronicles by a Chinese traveler who have described such a garden having existed and held various trees that were abundantly fruiting.
