Masjid Fathur Rahman, Pengkalan Rama, Malacca (9 August, 2017)
Masjid Fathur Rahman (GPS: 2.20773, 102.25358) is a Malacca-style mosque in Pengkalan Rama, Malacca. It is located on Jalan Durian Daun. As it is the mosque for the mukim (Muslim parish) of Pengkalan Rama, it is often called Masjid Pengkalan Rama.
Masjid Fathur Rahman comprises a prayer hall with two triple-tier hip roof. The minaret is five storeys tall, and is topped with a hip roof with a small onion-shaped gilded dome at the crest. As with many Malacca-style mosques, Masjid Fathur Rama has roof ridges that curve up at the tip.
According to the Malacca government website1 , Masjid Fathur Rahman dates back to the 1730s. It was rebuilt once in 1917, and again in 1978. An extension was built to the mosque in 2004.
