Open-air auditorium of the Melaka Alive (1 May, 2009)
Melaka Alive (GPS: 2.19142, 102.25058), formerly known as the Malacca Sound and Light Show, is an evening sound-and-light performance in the historic core of Malacca. The show offers spectators an account of the history of Malacca, and tells the story of the Malacca Sultanate. The show is staged in an open-air auditorium facing Porta de Santiago.
Melaka Alive comprises Bahtera Merdeka and Pirate Adventure. Bahtera Merdeka, which is set on board a ship, tells the tale of Panglima Awang who lived through the invasion of Malacca by the Portuguese. Pirate Adventure offers a glimpse into the life of a pirate asx the visitor becomes a pirate for a day.
Bahtera Merdeka and is held nightly with two shows, at 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm. The tickets are priced at RM45 for adults and RM28 for children aged 4-12. MyKad holders pay RM35 while MyKid holders pay RM20 each. Malaysian senior citizen holding MyKad pay RM20.
The Pirate Adventure is priced at RM25 for adults and RM20 for children. MyKad holders pay RM20 while MyKid holders pay RM15. Malaysian senior citizens with MyKad pay RM15.
