Taman Warisan Dunia Jonker Walk (GPS: 2.19683, 102.24662), (Traditional Chinese: 鷄塲街世遺公園, Simplified Chinese: 鸡场街世遗公园, Pinyin: Jī Chǎng Jiē Shì Yí Gōngyuán) is a public park in Malacca. It is located on Jalan Hang Jebat, also called Jonker Walk. Created in the year 2010, the paved park is landscaped with shrubs and potted plants.
The centrepiece of Taman Warisan Dunia Jonker Walk is the sculpture of Malacca's favourite son, Datuk Wira Dr Gan Boon Leong (1937 - ), regarded as the Father of Bodybuilders in Malaysia. (It's not the only sculpture of Dr Gan in Melaka; there's another three at other spots). Dr Gan held various bodybuilding titles including Mr Universe (2000, honorary), Mr Asia (1956), Mr Malaysia and Mr Melaka. He was also the President of the Malaysian Bodybuilding Association.
Also found at Taman Warisan Dunia Jonker Walk are sculptures of various animals of the Chinese zodiac. The park has become a popular stopover point for tourists going through Jalan Hang Jebat.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
