S'Corner Central Market (1 May, 2016)


S'Corner Central Market (GPS: 4.50193, 101.40238) is a tourist market in Cameron Highlands. Also known as Strawberry Point, the "S" in its name probably stands for "strawberry", though it could also well stand for "sharp", for it is located immediately after a sharp cornering along the main road from Kea Farm to Brinchang town. If you take an aerial view of this cornering, it does form the letter "S".

S'Corner has a tea house where visitors can stop by for refreshments. You can also purchase vegetables at quite a low price (though, from our observation, strawberries seem to be quite expensive throughout Cameron Highlands). The vegetables at S'Point are sold in bulk. For RM10, you have a choice of selecting several packets of vege. We did not buy any, as it is just too much vegetables for us to consume.

You can also get various souvenirs, from t-shirts to key chains and lots of chocolate coated strawberries here. On the whole, the items are nicely presented. The keychains and fridge magnets are all so colourful.

One of the fascinating aspects of S'Corner is its Mushroom Farm. We arrived there just as the mushrooms were being harvested. It is quite fun to watch the mushrooms being plucked from where they grew.

Parking at S'Corner observes a one-way route. You enter at one gate and exit at another. That way, cars avoid bumping into one another. As with other places in Cameron, S'Corner can get very crowded during weekends. On the other hand, I saw that the gate was shut when we passed by on a weekday.
