Strawberry Farm, Cameron Highlands (2 April, 2004)
Strawberry Farms dot the main road of Cameron Highlands between the towns of Tanah Rata and Brinchang. Among the strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands include Big Red Strawberry Farm, Blueberry Earthhouse Strawberry Farm, Kok Lim Strawberry Farm, Raaju's Hill Strawberry Farm and S'Corner Central Market.
In the farm that I visited, the strawberries are organically grown. Unlike the other strawberry farms, visitors are not allowed to go near the plants. A small patch is set aside for visitors to admire, but they are not allowed to enter the main farm area, as the strawberries will be damaged by human touch. These strawberries are grown without chemical fertilisers and also without the use of pesticides. For that reason, entry into the nursery is controlled.
In addition to the organic strawberry farm, I also visited the "normal" ones. One of these has an "all-you-can-pluck" program, where you pay a small fee to enter the strawberry patch. I didn't find it to be a "profitable" activity, preferring to buy my own strawberries fresh from the roadside stalls!

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
