The area is quite happening in the evening, when the coffee shops and nearby New Lane Hawker Centre are operating. There is a wide range of street rood to be enjoyed here.

Hospitality at Sunway Hotel Georgetown was very good, though it was dented a little bit by an incident where the hotel parking attendant insisted on charging me parking fee, even though the hotel has already validated my parking ticket for free parking on that visit. Although the hotel managed to sort out the issue with its parking attendant, I felt it necessary not to sweep any unpleasant incidents under the carpet. Having said that, Sunway Hotel Georgetown remains recommendated for visitors looking for accommodation in George Town.

Sunway Hotel is within walking distance of the Komtar Bus Terminal. Walk heading west on Tek Soon Street, then turn left at Penang Road, continuing until main intersection. Take Macalister Road until junction of Lorong Baru (New Lane) on your left. Go a short distance down New Lane and you will see Sunway Hotel on your right.
