Bukit Merah Laketown Resort (GPS: 4.9947, 100.66007) is a holiday resort in Bukit Merah near Taiping. It is developed beside a 7000-acre freshwater lake.

The public concourse of the resort is called Marina Village. This public area, which is of free admission, has various games parlours as well as the restaurants. There are two theme parks at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort. They are the Ecopark and the Waterpark. The Ecopark, which covers three acres, comprises three large enclosures that house various wildlife. Visitors to the Ecopark can explore the area on the Skycycle, a pedal-powered vehicle that takes visitors through the Ecopark on an elevated monorail.

The Waterpark covers 11 acres, making it among the biggest in northern Peninsular Malaysia. It has 14 different attractions.

Bukit Merah Laketown Resort has three restaurants namely Le Lac Café, Bubbles Family Restaurant and Ripples Hawker Centre.

There are various recreational activities at Bukit Merah Laketown. Bicycles and 4-wheel bicycles are available for rent. You can also go fishing by the lake. Other activities including archery, paintball, fishing, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and mini ATV. Pricing is as shown below.

Updates on Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

13 May 2016
Orang Utan Island at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort reopened to the public when the resort began using land cruisers to ferry visitors from the jetty to the island. The island had been closed to visitors since 11 April, 2016, when the lake became too shallow for the boats to navigate safely. With the use of the land cruiser, visitors pay RM25 per adult and RM15 per child instead of RM30 and RM18 respectively.

The theme parks are open Mondays to Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm, and on Fridays to Sundays, public holidays and school holidays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
