Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Ipoh (9 November, 2015)

Church of Our Lady of Lourdes (GPS: 4.60316, 101.06867) is a Roman Catholic church in the Silibin suburb of Ipoh, Perak. It is located on Jalan Silibin, and is a church for the Indian community.

Church of Our Lady of Lourdes trades its history to the turn of the 20th century, when Roman Catholic missionary, Father L.M. Duvelle initiated the effort to establish a church for the Indian Catholics in the area. A piece of land was purchased in 1902, and the Bishop gave the church the name Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. At that time, they were unaware that the land was prone to flooding, an issue that became apparent once they built the first church building. Floods became a regular occurrence at this church, right up until the present church building was completed in 1959.
