Dato' Seri Adika Raja's House, Ipoh (19 August, 2006)
Dato' Seri Adika Raja's House (GPS: 4.58992, 101.07921) is a Malay house at 20 Jalan Datoh in Ipoh, Perak. This house with its intricately carved eaves, is believed to be the home of Orang Kaya Kaya Dato' Seri Adika DiRaja Wan Muhammad Saleh and his wife Toh Puan Hajjah Sharifah Rodiah. It was built a in 1910, meaning if it is still standing today, it would be over a hundred years ago.
When I photographed Dato' Seri Adika Raja's house in 2006, it was already in a forlorn state. I was not surprised that it remained tucked away in a forgotten corner of Ipoh in 2014, when it was shot by Google Street View. I imagine how beautiful it would be if properly restored.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
