Dato' Seri Adika Raja's House, Ipoh (19 August, 2006)
Dato' Seri Adika Raja's House (GPS: 4.58992, 101.07921) is a Malay house at 20 Jalan Datoh in
Ipoh, Perak. This house with its intricately carved eaves, is believed to be the home of
Orang Kaya Kaya Dato' Seri Adika DiRaja Wan Muhammad Saleh and his wife Toh Puan Hajjah Sharifah Rodiah. It was built a in 1910, meaning if it is still standing today, it would be over a hundred years ago.
When I photographed Dato' Seri Adika Raja's house in 2006, it was already in a forlorn state. I was not surprised that it remained tucked away in a forgotten corner of Ipoh in 2014, when it was shot by Google Street View. I imagine how beautiful it would be if properly restored.
