Enlightened Heart Temple (GPS: 4.6039, 101.15404; Simplified/Traditional Chinese: 心意佛院) is a huge Tibetan Buddhist temple in Ipoh, Perak. It is in Tambun, on the northeastern outskirts of the city. The temple is accessed from Jalan Ampang, with the distance from the main road about roughly 1.1km.
The Enlightened Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple was established by a local named Yong Si Fu, who took on the name of Ge Li Rinpoche after he embraced Tibetan Buddhism. It started on a modest scale in 1976, but over the subsequent decades grew to reach its present size, comprising a complex of halls, gardens and pagodas, with innumerable statues of the Buddha and other religious iconography. Today the Enlightened Heart Temple is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in the country.
One of the most imposing sights at this temple is the Enlightened Heart Medicine Buddha Bhaishaya Guru Pagoda. Standing at an imposing height of 72 meters, it encases a colossal statue of the Shakyamuni Buddha. Standing at level 8 of the pagoda, the statue garbed in painted gold, stares over the sprawling grounds below.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
