Movie Animation Park Studios (GPS: 4.66475, 101.08402), also known as MAPS, is a now defunct theme park in the newly developed township of Bandar Meru Raya in of Ipoh, Perak. It is proclaimed to be the first animation theme park in Asia. Built at a cost of RM520million, theme park opened to the public on 26 June, 2017. It is a joing venture between Perak Corporation Berhad and the Sanderson Group, and features animations from DreamWorks Animation and The Smurfs.
Maps is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Mondays to Fridays, and until 10:00 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and school holidays. I see that there is a bus stop in front of the theme park, but at the time I went, I don't believe there is a regular bus service to that bus stop. The nearest bus station is the Amanjaya Bus Terminal. If you arrive there, you may have to call an Uber or Grab to take you to the entrance of MAPS.

Visit to Movie Animation Park Studios
I passed by the Movie Animation Park Studios on 9 March, 2018, stopped the car and just have a look from the outside. I didn't have time to go in, as that will consume more time than I have on hand. I got there at around 9:55am, just 5 minutes from the opening time, but saw that there were hardly any visitors, if at all. Maybe I was too early, as the morning was still very hot. Maybe business will pick up later in the day.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
