UTC Perak, IpohUTC Perak, Ipoh (10 March, 2018)

UTC Perak (GPS: 4.59578, 101.08219) is a one-stop centre housing various government departments and statutory agencies in Ipoh, Perak. It is housed in the building of the Ipoh Central Market, which is bordered by Jalan Foo Choo Choon to the north, Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar (Cockman Street) to the east, Tingkat Pasar to the south, and Jalan Laxamana to the west. The main market building is a three-storey structure with a pedestrian bridge across Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar. It used to house the Super Kinta Departmental Store on its 2nd floor, until the premises was taken over by UTC Perak.

UTC Perak began operations on 2 January, 2013. It was officially launched by the prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on 15 February, 2013. This is the third largest UTC complex after UTC Malacca and UTC Kuala Lumpur.

Located within an older, separate building adjacent to the Ipoh Central Market complex is the meat market. Within easy distance from the Central Market is the Ipoh McDonald's outlet at Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar, and the main hawker centre at Kompleks Yik Foong.

The market has been renovated and is now called UTC Ipoh (Urban Transformasion Centre).

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
