Lin Je Kong Temple (GPS: 4.23952, 100.54419; Chinese: 灵慈宫) is a Chinese temple in Pangkor, Perak. Located on the northern end of Coral Beach, it is one of the oldest Chinese temples on the island. The island is perched on a rocky promontory that juts out of the sandy beach.
Lin Je Kong was built for the veneration of the Goddess of Mercy, or Kuan Yin. Originally just a modest shrine on the rock, the temple has expanded over the decades to resemble a religious theme park, with various statues and figurines dotting the cliff side. More incongruous are statues of what appears to be Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and even the Little Mermaid.
Lin Je Kong Temple offers panoramic vista of this corner of Pangkor Island. The view of Coral Beach below is stupendous, especially on a clear day. From the temple one can see Pulau Giam and Pulau Mentagor in the horizon.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
