Proton City (GPS: 3.73596, 101.51079) is a town in the Batang Padang District in southern Perak. It is 5 km to the north of Tanjung Malim, near the border with Selangor. The township covers an area of 16 square kilometers.
Proton City was created to house the main Proton car assembly plant in Malaysia. The town was established in 1996. In addition to the Proton plant, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has also set up its base here. It occupies 800 acres of Proton City.
