Merdeka Clocktower of Sungai Siput Utara (18 September 2016)
Merdeka Clocktower (GPS: 4.81727, 101.07733) is a clocktower in Sungai Siput Utara, Perak. It is located beside the main road, Federal Route 1. The clocktower was officiated by Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, who was the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, on 20 January 1958. It is one of many clocktowers built all over the country to commemorate the independence.
The Merdeka Clocktower, also called Menara Jam Merdeka Sungai Siput Utara, is triangular in shape. The spine facing the main road has the words "Merdeka 1957" on it.
