Gurdwara Sahib Tanjung Malim (GPS: 3.69342, 101.52432) is the place of worship for Tanjung Malim's Sikh community. It is a two-storey building on the main road of the town. The history
1 of the gurdwara can be traced back to the 1920s, though exactly when it was built is not known. The Sikhs in Tanjung Malim made a living as dairy farmers as well as bullock cart drivers. That early gurdwara, which was built of wooden planks, was demolished in 1931.
To replace the demolished building, the Sikhs of Tanjung Malim pooled their resources to purchase a 2-acre piece of land, for Straits Dollars $750. The land was on a low ground and was probably prone to flooding, so the members had to bring in earth and stones to fill up the ground. They built their gurdwara which stood on concrete stilts. This building lasted until 2003, when it was demolished for the construction of the present Gurdwara Sahib.
