Masjid Alwi, Kangar (1 November, 2009)
Masjid Alwi (GPS: 6.43725, 100.18608) is one of the major mosques in
Kangar, Perlis. It was named after the ruler at the time of its completion, Raja Syed Alwi Ibni Almarhum Tuan Syed Safi Jamalillal. Masjid Alwi was completed in 1933 at the cost of RM64,684 which was due to tithes and donations from Muslim government officials as well as Muslim businessmen.
The ruler of Perlis Tuanku Syed Alwi ibni Almarhum Syed Safi officiated in the opening of Masjid Alwi on 10 February of that year.

If you are approaching Kangar from the direction of Arau, look out for Masjid Alwi on the right side of Jalan Kangar-Alor Setar after you pass the roundabout.
