Seri Wawasan Bridge, Putrajaya (9 July, 2016)
Seri Wawasan Bridge (GPS: 2.92797, 101.68436), or
Jambatan Seri Wawasan, links Precinct 2 to Precinct 8. It has a single span which is 240 metres in length, supported by stayed cables which are suspended from leaning concrete pylons. Carrying Lebuh Wawasan across the
Putrajaya Lake, the bridge was completed in 2003, and I photographed it about a year later.
The Seri Wawasan Bridge carries a six-lane avenue, three each way, as well as pedestrian walkway on each side. Its dramatic appearance is said to be inspired by the Bugis schooner.
