Taman Rimba Alam, Putrajaya (9 July, 2016)

Taman Rimba Alam (GPS: 2.94043, 101.71683) is one of the urban parks in
Putrajaya. It is located in Precinct 15 of the city. I paid a visit to Taman Rimba Alam during my recent trip to Putrajaya. I find the place landscaped with well-manicured lawn. The park has hiking tracks into the forest, which preserves a water catchment area. Although the road shoulders are neatly trimmed, the forest park is home to various forest trees such as the Kapor (
Dryobalanops aromatica), the Keladan (
Dryobalanops oblogifolia), Merawan Siput Jantan (
Hopea odorata), Jelutong (
Dyera costulata), Penaga Lilin (
Mesua ferrea) and Damar Minyak (
Agathis boornensis).
For the comfort of visitors, a roadside pavilion with interpretive boards is build at a curve of the road at Taman Rimba Alam. This is a rest area for hikers, and is equipped with toilet facilities.
