Tambunan (GPS: 5.72129, 116.41077) is a small town in the Interior Division of Sabah. Located among the folds of the Crocker Range, Tambunan is about 81 km from Kota Kinabalu. The town is best known as the place where the local hero, Mat Salleh, was besieged and killed by the locals for negotiating a truce with the British.
Getting there
You can take minivans from Kota Kinabalu to Tambunan. It costs RM10 and takes 1 1/2 hours.
