Tuaran, SabahTuaran, Sabah (4 May 2022)

Tuaran (GPS: 6.17626, 116.23279) is a town to the north of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. The district, also called Tuaran, covers an area of 1166 sq km and has a population of 94,000 (2006 est.) with ethnic Dusuns forming the majority, followed by Bajaus and Chinese. The most prominent landmark in Tuaran is a nine-storey Chinese pagoda.

The town of Tuaran is 34 km from Kota Kinabalu. As with many towns in Sabah, it has a farmer's market, called Tamu, which takes place every Sunday morning. The tamu is a good opportunity for tourist to catch a glimpse of the town in action. It is in fact the second biggest tamu is Sabah after the one in Kota Belud.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
