Clearwater Cave is a cave system in the Gunung Mulu National Park in Sarawak. Measuring 51 kilometers in length and 355 meters in depth, it is the longest cqave passage in Southeast Asia. A subterranean river creates a crystal-clear pool that gives it its name. The path from park headquarters leads in a northeasterly direction to Wind Cave and then Clearwater Cave. The walk is pleasant but, as with many of these wooden plankways, rather slippery in places. For a good distance, the trail negotiates along Sungai Melinau. It reaches Wind Cave first, and continues for another 15 minutes to Clearwater Cave.

For experience cavers, it is possible to explore outside the usual pedestrian trail. In the company of a guide, you can exit Clearwater Cave via Turtle Cave river route to explore the many labyrinthine passages. Be prepared though for a bit of crawling, climbing, swimming and a general roughing it out at an additional charge. Guides for these adventurous escapades go for between RM200 to RM300 for a group of maximum 5 persons, and can be engaged from the park headquarters.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
