Bangi (GPS: 2.91984, 101.78086) is a township in the Hulu Langat district of Selangor. It is located. Until a few decades ago, it was a rural part of Selangor that was covered with oil palm plantations. The "pekan" or town centre of Bangi is still there, with its row of old shophouses.
Bangi is located between Kajang to the north and Putrajaya to the west. The original village, Pekan Bangi, is located to the south of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Further to the north is the township of Bandar Baru Bangi. In between Bandar Baru Bangi and Bangi is the campus of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Bangi.
Among the sights in the Bandar Baru Bangi area is the Bangi Golf Resort, an 18-hole golf course, and the 5-star Hotel Equatorial. To the north of Bandar Baru Bangi is Country Heights, an upscale residential neighbourhood in Kajang.

How to reach Bangi & Bandar Baru Bangi
Take the North-South Expressway Southern Route and exit at the Bangi Interchange (Exit 212). You can also take the KTM Komuter train to Bangri. The station is at Pekan Bangi itself.
