Redang Beach (GPS: 3.50323, 101.09407) is a popular beach in Sekinchan, Selangor. It faces the Straits of Malacca, on the northern side of the mouth of Sungai Labu. Over the past few years, the seaside has become a very happening place, with seastall food stalls sprouting up in front of the Redang Beach Datuk Kong Temple, and the Sekinchan Wishing Tree beside it.
To be honest, Redang Beach isn't a spectacularly beautiful beach. The seabed is muddy here, and reveals itself as such during low tide. There are breakers to check the incoming surf as well as rocks to check coastal erosion. This does not stop the big stream of visitors converging on the beach, particularly on weekends and public holidays.
I arrived at Redang Beach around 11:00 am, and found that the place was jam-packed with visitors. There were children flying kites along the beach, and older people sheltering under the shade of the food stalls.
A journey from Kuala Lumpur to Redang Beach in Sekinchan is estimated to take 1 hour 30 minutes. It is 96.3km in distance. You would take the North-South Expressway Northern Route out of Kuala Lumpur, then continue on the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway E25 followed by Federal Route 54, and finally Federal Route 5.

Having strawberries with nutter butter at Redang Beach (7 July, 2016)
Here's an excellent (and healthy) snack for a road trip: buy a tray of strawberries, and eat them with nutter butter. The sourishness of the strawberries blend perfectly with the sweetness of the nutter butter!
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
