Sunway BRT Line is a bus rapid transit in Selangor. These are buses that travel on their own elevated path above the normal road traffic. They are grade separated from other vehicles which have no access to their bus line. The Sunway BRT Line was implemented in 2015. It covers a distance of 5.4 kilometers from Setia Jaya to USJ7, with seven stations in between.
Since its introduction in 2015, the Sunway BRT has been criticised for its steep fare. As of April 2016, the fare for traveling the whole journey, from Setia Jaya to USJ7 is RM5.40, which works out to be RM1 for every kilometer travelled. On top of that, parking at the BRT's park and ride carpak is RM4 per entry.
Updates on the Sunway BRT Line
13 November, 2018 Bernama reports Transport Minister Anthony Loke saying that the fare for Sunway Bus Rapid Transit route will be reduced by 20 percent from Dec 1 (2018). This is to encourage more people to use the service. Prasarana Malaysia Bhd is targeting a 22 percent increase in ridership.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
