Bukit Payong, Terengganu

Bukit Payong (GPS: 5.23387, 103.10256) is a small town in the Marang district of Terengganu. The town is located to the southwest of Kuala Terengganu on Route 14. The name Bukit Payong means "Umbrella Hill".

On the northern part of Terengganu, near Jerteh, there is another village also called Kampung Bukit Payung (note the spelling). This village was establlished in the 1960's after villagers from across Sungai Besut moved over to settle there.
