Bukit Puteri Flag Pole was erected on top of Bukit Puteri during the reign of Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alam Syah, on 22 April, 1899. It stands at a height of 18 meters above ground, with a 2-meter depth in the ground.

The present flag pole on Bukit Puteri replaces an earlier flag pole built by Sultan Zainal Abidin II. The ceremony to plant the flag pole was conducted in full custom accompanied by the blast of 16 cannon shots.
