Replica of Aleppo Citadel at Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu (19 February 2011)
The Aleppo Citadel Replica of Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu, is a replica of an Islamic monument in Syria. It is a huge fortress in the city of Aleppo. The fortress is also one of the oldest in the world, as the site has been in use since the 3rd millennium BC. According to Islamic tradition, Abraham used to milk his cow or sheep there.
The Aleppo Citadel is believed to have been built by the Neo-Hittites. It fell into the hands of different conquerors through history. Under the Seleucids ruler Nicator, the city was reconstructed and called Beroia. Nicator's son Sultan Ghazi used the citadel as both a residence and a fortress. In the 12th century a massive moat measuring 30 meters wide and 22 meters deep was dug around the base of the citadel, with the entrance being a magnificent gateway.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
