Mama Cat Sculpture (30 June 2013)
Mama Cat Sculpture (GPS: 5.41403, 100.33944) is a piece of art in
George Town, Penang. It is installed in front of the entrance to
ChinaHouse facing
Victoria Street. It is the final piece of artwork created by a team that calls itself ASA, or Artists for Stray Animals, as part of the 101 Lost Kittens project.
The Mama Cat Sculpture is officially known as "Even If Handicapped, Still Love Me". It is one of the art pieces placed to raise awareness of stray animals and take them off the streets. The Mama Cat Sculpture depicts a disabled cat which is being carted on a trolley. It looks like a cross between a maneki-neko (the Japanese Fortune Cat) and Jabba the Hutt.
