Masjid Jamek Al-Munauwar, Pulau Tikus, Penang (22 July 2017)
Masjid Jamek Al-Munauwar (GPS: 5.43045, 100.31636) is an old Malay mosque in
Kelawei Road. It is located near to where the original Malay settlement of Kelawei Road was situated. Until the 1930's, Kelawei was at the shore and the Malays living there were mostly fishermen. Some of their perahus can still be seen packed along the shore at
Gurney Drive.
Masjid Jamek Al-Munauwar is located between the junction of
Edgecumbe Road and
Jones Road. It has been renovated a few times, and no longer retains the original look.

May, 2012: The old building of Masjid Jamek Al-Munauwar is being replaced with a newer, bigger structure that will open soon.
