Relau Metropolitan Park (23 March 2013)
Relau Metropolitan Park or
Taman Metropolitan Relau is a public recreational area in
Relau. It was opened to the public on 26 July 2003 by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, TYT Tun Dato' Seri Utama (Dr) Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas.
The Metropolitan Park created in answer for the need of a public recreational area in the southern park of Penang Island. Until its establishment, there was no official recreational space to support the Penang's metropolitan area that has grown to encompasses Relau, Sungai Ara and
Bayan Lepas.

The Metropolitan Park is managed by the Penang Island Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang, or MPPP) which also manages the
Municipal Park and the
Penang Botanic Gardens.
Updates
23 February, 2013: A Family Recreation Pool was added to the Relau Metropolitan Park and officiated by Dato' Patahiyah binti Ismail, the President of the Penang Island Municipal Council.

Adjacent to the Metropolitan Park is the ruins of
Relau Villa. Across
Sungai Relau is the
Shrine of the Jade Emperor.
Getting there
The nearest bus stop is the
Rapid Penang Relau Bus Hub along
Lebuh Relau. From there, it is still a walking distance of between 10-20 minutes, depending on your walking speed. The bus hub is served by
Rapid Penang bus 301.
