Miami Beach, Penang (3 February 2018)
Miami Beach (GPS: 5.47754, 100.26698) is a stretch of coastline in
Batu Ferringgi, Penang. It lies between
Shamrock Beach to the east and
Moonlight Bay to the west. Named after Miami Beach in Florida, the area was a favourite picnic and camping spot in the 1960s and early 70s, but over the years has been transformed by property development.
The land facing Miami Beach was built up since the 1980s. Among the development here include the Miami Bay housing estate, the
Miami Green Condominium,
Hydro Majestic Hotel and The Reef. A newer development happening in the area is the Ivory Island Resort, located to the west of the older properties.
