Moh Ghee Branch School (20 December 2008)
SJKC Moh Ghee Cawangan (GPS: 5.40035, 100.32167), or
Moh Ghee Branch School (Traditional Chinese: 慕義華文小學分校, Simplified Chinese: 慕义华文小学分校), is a small primary school in
Jelutong, Penang. It is located along the
Jelutong Main Road.
Moh Ghee Branch School occupies the original site of Moh Ghee School, which was established in 1918. The original school occupied an attap shed. It was forced to close during the Second World War. After the war, the original site could not cope with the increase in number of school-going children. As a result, local businessmen funded the establishment of another campus along Perak Lane. When the school building was completed in 1949, it became the main school while the original site became the branch school.
The present main building, Block A, was completed in 1998. The original attap shed has long been demolished. An earlier structure, Block B, was built in 1974 to replace that shed. An expansion to Block B was also carried out in 1994 to add a music room and a life-science laboratory.
