Mohd Azmi Mohd Hussin, who goes by the nickname ME, is a Penang cartoonist born in Butterworth. From small, he has been inspired to take up art through watching cartoons such as Thundercats, Rambo and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

ME's natural talent won him practically all the art competitions he entered in school, and much of his pocket money went into this hobby. By the time he reached Standard Six, ME was emulating his idol, Lat (Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid), the most famous cartoonist in Malaysia. A BMX enthusiast, ME counts his mother as his biggest supporter.

ME studied graphic design and took on the miscellaneous factory work for a few years before deciding to pursue his passion in art, and becoming a full-time artist. He is presently a resident artist at the Made In Penang Interactive Museum, where he thrills visitors every day with his wonderful caricatures.

I first come across ME when he posted his Tanjong Life comics on my Penang Street Art Facebook Group. I can see that this guy has talent, and immediately reached out to write more about him. I learn that you can meet up with ME at the Made In Penang museum Mondays to Fridays, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
