Musalla Kampung Bukit, Bayan Lepas (2 February 2013)
Musalla Kampung Bukit (GPS: 5.29455, 100.25658) is the village prayer hall of one of the five Malay villages that make up
Bayan Lepas. The five villages are Kampung Bukit, Kampung Nelayan,
Kampung Seronok, Kampung Padang and
Kampung Binjai).
Musalla Kampung Bukit was built in 1921 and although it has been repaired and repainted over the years, the musalla has retained its appearance. This is one of the few heritage buildings on the southern part of Penang Island. At the time it was built, the musalla is beside the Bayan Lepas Main Road. Since then, a new road called
Jalan Kampung Bukit, has been built beside it, so now Musalla Kampung Bukit is beside that road.
