Nagore Mews, George Town, Penang (6 May 2014)
Nagore Mews are a cluster of mews off
Nagore Road, in
George Town, Penang. They comprise three rows of buildings with open-front mews or carriage garages on the ground floor and living quarters on the upper floor. There are stairs leading up to the upper floor. Originally built as mews, these buildings were converted to become living quarters, and housed numerous sundry tenants for a number of decades until the mews were bought over and, as I write this (May 2014), in the process of being rehabilitated.
The Nagore Mews look set to become another boutique hotel within George Town. Its proximity to
Nagore Square, a budding watering hole of restaurants and bistros makes it another likely place for the hospitality industry.
