Nibong Tebal Firefly Watching

Nibong Tebal Firefly Watching (GPS: 5.15538, 100.46974) is a tourist activitiy that has developed in the town of Nibong Tebal, Penang. I visited the site back in 2004, when the activity was in the launching state. I joined a group of people from the tourism industry to visit Sungai Udang in Nibong Tebal.

From there, we boarded sampans to enter the mangrove swamp along Sungai Kerian where we could watch the fireflies at night. Unfortunately it was too dark for me to take any shots (and we were told not to aim our flash at the fireflies anyway) so I have no photo to show. Since then it has developed into a local tourism industry.
