Noordin Street Ghaut (Gat Lebuh Noordin), George Town

Noordin Street Ghaut, George Town, Penang (6 February 2013)

Noordin Street Ghaut is one of the minor roads in George Town, Penang. It was laid as an extension of Noordin Street. Today it runs from the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway to Bridge Street.

For much of the 20th century, served as the exit road from Weld Quay to Bridge Street. This all changed when the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway was built. Originally called the Jelutong Expressway, it connects with Weld Quay to allow continuous drive heading south, eventually all the way to Batu Maung. The change turned Noordin Street Ghaut from a former one-way street to the present two-way street.
