Sydney Central Business District, also known as Sydney CBD or The City, is the main commercial centre of Sydney, New South Wales. It extends southwards from Sydney Cove over a distance of 3 kilometers. An imaginary line from Circular Quay in the north to the Central Railway Station to the south forms a north-south axis to the central business district. On the eastern side of the central business district is a string of parkland including Hyde Park, The Domain, Royal Botanic Gardens and Farm Cove. On the west is Darling Harbour, and may loosely include Pyrmont to the west and Woolloomooloo to the east.

At the heart of the Sydney CBD is a dense concentration of skyscrapers. George Street is the main street running north-south through the district. Together with the other streets within the central business district, it is one of the oldest city street, not only in Sydney, but in the whole Australia.
