Customs House (GPS: -33.86231, 151.21107) is a heritage building at Circular Quay, Sydney. Located at 31 Alfred Street, Circular Quay, Custom House was constructed in 1844-1845, and was used as the headquarters of the Customs Service right up to 1990. Ownership then transferred from the Commonwealth Government of Australia to the City of Sydney Council in 1994. It then was used for exhibitions and private functions. In 2003, Customs House was refurbished, and is now the new home of the City of Sydney Library.
On the ground floor of Customs House is a 4.2m x 9.5m scale model of Sydney's Central Business District (CBD), viewed through a glass floor. It was built in 1998 by Modelcraft in 1998 and weighs one tonne. Photographs of Customs House across its history are also on display.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
