One Precinct Penang (GPS: 5.32546, 100.28469) is a shopping mall in Bayan Baru, Penang. It was formerly known as Bayan Central.

Developed by Interglobal Resources, the mall is located along Jalan Mayang Pasir 1, One Precinct covers 533,000 sqft. There are two levels of basement car park as well as a rooftop garden. The retail component of One Precinct, branded Shopex Galleria, covers 17,000 sqft and has space for 36 outlets.

I paid a visit to One Precinct some one year after it was fully completed. I found a number of the food and beverage outlets operating in this new shopping malls, but the other outlets remain empty, particularly those on the upper floors. It may be a while before these are filled, a situation shared by other newly completed shopping malls in the vicinity.

Location

One Precinct is located across the road from the Bayan Baru Hawker Centre, which provides it a ready stream of traffic. Also in the vicinity include Suntech Tower, Sunshine Square and Mayang Mall.
