Pak Tam Mee Udang (GPS: 5.27872, 100.24158) is a popular mee udang stall in Teluk Kumbar. It is located along the beach at Teluk Bayu. In the past year or so, it has been visited by many people, so I was also curious to give it a try.
There are many mee udang stalls in Teluk Kumbar, which is famous for mee udang in Penang. My favourite stall has been Ayu Mee Udang, so I was eager to give this one a try. I searched the Internet for information, but saw that most bloggers did not provide details of how to get there. As you can see on this page, I actually had to hunt for how to reach the place. I know that I could walk in, but was determine to drive my car right to the spot.
This is how I reach Pak Tam Mee Udang
If you are coming from Bayan Lepas, turn left to Jalan Sungai Batu when you reach Teluk Kumbar. Go along Jalan Sungai Batu until you reach the turning on your left.

Do I like Pak Tam Mee Udang?
Oh yes, I think it is very good, and at RM10, cheaper than the mee udang at Ayu, which is now RM16 per plate. However, I have to say that the prawns at Ayu is larger. But the number of prawns given at Pak Tam is not bad - five to a plate! Taste wise, both are equally good. I do not mind going to Pak Tam and Ayu mee udang alternately.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
